Auditions for CHICAGO

Vertigo Theatrics announces auditions for the hit musical “Chicago”. This is one of the first times this show has been released for non-professional production. Vertigo Theatrics will be kicking off their eleventh season with the local premier of this show in September, 2008, at the Masonic Temple Downtown Flint.

The show is in razzle dazzle, roaring twenties Chicago. Married chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover. Roxie and another murderess on death row, most notably, Velma Kelly, the night club singer, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, hoping the publicity will catapult them to fame, freedom and successful stage careers. This sharp edged murder, exploitation and treachery features a dazzling score that sparkles.

Auditions will be held Wednesday June 11, 2008, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Saturday June 14, 2008 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. There is a need for approximately 10 female and 9 male roles. The composition of the cast will be principles, chorus and dancers. Requirements: Cold read from the script, 1 prepared acappella song, one dance portion to be taught & tested that evening.
