Faithful by Chazz Palminteri

Produced with special arrangements with Samuel French, Inc.

THE STORY:

A helpless woman tied up in her home with a hit man waiting for "the" call from her husband to "do" the job, is the opening of Vertigo Theatrics next Studio Show at Downtown Flint's Historic Masonic Temple.

Faithful is a dark comedy written by Chazz Palminteri. It has been produced on stage as well as in a movie starring Palminteri, Cher and Ryan O'Neal, following the same story line as the play.

Tony, the cool killer, has his world turned upside down by Maggie, who planned to commit suicide on the night she was to be his victim. Distraught over her failing marriage to Jack, whom she suspects is having an affair, Maggie learns that Jack hired Tony to kill her because he thinks she is unfaithful. Tony's presence awakens Maggie's desire to live and she begins to fight for her life, coming at Tony from all angles. A strange symbiotic relationship develops that propels the story through a series of violent and comical twists.

Jack's arrival pushes the tension and the pace up another notch. Roles and allegiances shift. This is a play that develops more questions before the solution.

This is Vertigo's second Studio Show of the 2007-2008 theatrical season. This particular show marks the first time Ted Valley, Producer of Vertigo Theatrics, and Jacque Valley, Managing Partner of Vertigo Theatrics, have worked together on stage as actors. The spouses have worked in theatre for many years separately, and as director and actor, but never acted together. Although, the characters are married to each other Jacque and Ted wish to stress that it is not typecasting.

Additional information will be available as the curtain goes up this week!
